This tour combines the cultural experiences of the peoples of the sacred valley and textiles, and community exploitation of the salt mines, archaeological sites and cultural landscapes. Through tourist transport and short walks allow visitors to appreciate the sacred valley, the landscapes of the chain of snowy mountains as veronica, Chicon among others.
Let’s tour the most remote sites in the Sacred Valley. We will start our excursion in Chinchero, where we will be able to appreciate the beauty of the town and archaeological site; and we will also have the opportunity to participate in a brief exhibition of traditional textiles, the distinctive feature of this town, famous for the beauty and high quality of its textiles and ancestral dyeing techniques. We will then continue to Moray, where the view is awesome due to the colossal concentric terraces simulating a huge amphitheater.
The purpose of it: to recreate 20 different types of microclimates, a measure that guaranteed the agricultural production of the empire. After that, we will go to Maras, the famous and millenary salt mines from colonial times. The contrast of the white wells and the green valley is awesome and a must for a spectacular snapshot of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will have lunch in a local restaurant before going back to our Hotel.
This tour is only done privately and our prices are based on a group of two-four people. You will travel in a private van. If your group is larger than 9, please ask the Pacha Peru Explorers representative for specific pricing.
All of our guides studied English and tourism at Cusco National University. They all grew up in this region and have a true passion to teach others about their heritage. They are fun yet professional, and will ensure you are safe and happy.
We will pick you up in our private Pacha Peru Explorers van, directly from your hotel around 8 a.m. The van will be waiting for you at each stop, when you are ready. We will return you directly back to your hotel.
All of the sites visited on this tour require the Tourist Ticket. You can purchase this ticket at your first stop for 70 soles for a one day pass, or 130 soles for the 10 day pass and 10 soles per Salt Mines.
We will stop in Maras for a lunch at a local restaurant. If you prefer another location, please feel free to tell your guide. This meal is not included in your tour cost.
