The Urubamba River Rafting – Ollantaytambo tour starts when we pick you up from your hotel at 9 am and then take one of the most scenic drives through the Andean Mountains passing charming villages, farms and lagoons. While snow caped mountains range dominates the view to the west, you can see the impressive 6271 meters – 20574.15 foot high Salkantay mountain. Continuing on, we will enter the scenic overlooks of the Sacred Valley, including Inca ruins until we arrive to the beginning of the rafting tour.
Before the adventure starts, your river guide will give a safety briefing and demonstrate rafting commands and safety procedures. It will take a few minutes to practice everything learned in the safety briefing, and once, when everyone is ready it’s time to start rafting!
This section is perfect for beginners, families and for school groups. This part of the river offers nice friendly rapids. During the first hour, the river is calm with some level I and II rapids. The rafting tour is adorned with beautiful Inca sites and mountains that run parallel with the Urubamba River. The last hour we will go through rapids such as the Station (level III), Toboggan (level III) and some other rapids with nice waves, holes and technical rapids. If the weather condition are good, you can decide to jump to the river!. After the Urubamba River rafting adventure finish there will be a nice delicious lunch waiting for us near the river side.
After lunch, we will return back to your hotel.
If you are staying in the Sacred Valley, we can pick you up and drop you off at your hotel too.
